加拿大魁北克省 協助式自殺合法化

加拿大魁北克省周四 (5)通過准許末期病人在醫師協助之下自殺，創下加拿大將協助自殺實質合法化的首例。但此舉抵觸聯邦法律，因為加拿大聯邦刑法連生病當事人同意的安樂死也禁止。為了迴避這條刑法，魁北克可能主張此事不屬刑事案件，而是一件「衛生案件」，衛生案件屬於省法管轄。魁北克省長支持協助式自殺，表示這是「臨終照護」，不是「安樂死」。
