腿傷難癒美31歲公象安樂死

美國俄勒岡動物園（Oregon Zoo）宣布，31歲亞洲象拉瑪（Rama）因為長年腿傷，飽受劇烈疼痛與行動不便之苦，昨天已經安樂死。

拉瑪出生於1983年4月1日，是俄勒岡動物園的明星大象，體重約8000磅（3632公斤），個性溫和，還會以象鼻揮毫作畫。

園方表示，拉瑪的左前腿25年前摔傷，最近獸醫團隊發現長年腿傷如今已經讓牠承受劇烈疼痛，行動也極度不便，診斷評估結果決定讓他安樂死。

動物園正在籌劃紀念拉瑪的追悼會。
