海軍中和艦 周五赴帛琉人道救援

海軍編號LST232的中和號戰車登陸艦，上周四剛由菲律賓宿霧返國，又要再度擔任載運賑災物資的人道任務。國防部官員證實，由於南太平洋邦交國帛琉遭遇風災肆虐，中和艦將於本周五從左營軍港出發，前往賑災。

上月重創菲律賓的海燕颱風，同樣也對帛琉造成重大災害。馬總統日前下令海軍，再度執行支援友邦任務，代號「慈航102-2」，負責執行的還是中和號登陸艦。

由於風災已發生近一個月，船上載運的物資用途，以組合屋等重建用裝備為主。包括中華民國紅十字會等慈善團體，也將派出專家，協助當地政府規劃重建事宜。

官員指出，近年海軍的敦睦艦隊，幾乎每年都前往帛琉訪問，因此對航線非常熟悉。不過當地港口在風災之後有無受損，是否適合停靠滿載排水量9000噸的中和艦，目前還在評估。如果缺乏碼頭設施，必要時中和艦必須在海灘搶灘，下卸物資。
