身為美國三大車廠之一的CHRYSLER，在FIAT集團併購正式入主之後，靠著共享集團資源的情況下，有越來越多車型以貼牌或是雙生車型的名義進軍北美市場，在營運上逐漸轉虧為盈，不過在銷量上卻始終與GM與FORD兩大集團有著一段差距，主因之一便是CHRYSLER旗下較缺乏商用車款產品線，為了將彼此差距縮小，FIAT便打算以旗下各款商用車，掛上DODGE、RAM廠徽的方式，進軍美國商用車市場。
